The Greatest Ten Comic Book Pets

As comic book lovers, we all know the lovable companions who have stood by our heroes. These pets come in all shapes and sizes; sometimes they’re covered in fur, other times scales or even metal. Either way, they’ve always found a way to make it into our hearts and add depth to their respective stories. Let me present to you the top ten comic book pets ever seen.
Lockjaw (Marvel Comics)

Lockjaw is a giant teleporting bulldog that has become one of the most iconic comic book pets out there. He’s part of the Inhuman Royal Family, which gives him an almost supernatural level of loyalty and teleportation powers for himself and others.
Krypto (DC Comics)

We’ve all seen Superman’s faithful Kryptonian dog, Krypto. But did you know he has all of Superman’s powers? That’s right! Flight, super strength…even heat vision!
Ace the Bat-Hound (DC Comics)

Batman’s loyal canine companion is an amazing crime-fighter in its own right! With its sharp senses and impressive training Ace has helped Batman solve countless cases.
Lockheed (Marvel Comics)

Lockheed is a small dragon-like creature but don’t let his size fool you; he’s one of Kitty Pryde’s closest allies-especially when things get hot! With flight and fire breathing abilities this little guy can pack quite a punch.
Streaky the Supercat (DC Comics)

After being exposed to Kryptonite Streaky gained superpowers just like Supergirls! Now this pet locked herself some pretty amazing skills including flight and super strength.
Ms Lion (Marvel Comics)

This might just be the cutest hero on this list folks-the small fluffy dog belongs to Peter Parker’s Aunt May. Best known for getting in way over her head, Ms Lion has a big personality and won’t let her small size get in the way of her heroics.
Jumpa (DC Comics)

Yes…Jumpa is a giant kangaroo! But she’s also Wonder Woman’s steed and one formidable ally. Her strength and agility make Jumpa a valuable asset in any battle.
Cosmo (Marvel Comics)

Cosmo was just a Soviet space dog before he became telepathic-he now serves as the security chief of Knowhere, a space station located inside the severed head of a Celestial. His telepathy makes him an amazing communicator and strategist.
Old Lace (Marvel Comics)

Gert Yorkes loyal pet is one tough cookie; or should I say dinosaur? Old Lace is engineered to be incredibly strong and shares a telepathic bond with Gert, making them an unstoppable duo.
Redwing (Marvel Comics)

No need for words here. Sam Wilson’s falcon companion has sharp senses that can pierce through any enemy and he even communicates with Sam telepathically; an invaluable partner in combat and reconnaissance missions!

Comic book pets play a major role when it comes to our favorite superheroes-it doesn’t matter if they have powers or are just there for some companionship, they’ve captured fans’ hearts all around the globe and will forever be part of comic book lore! — Brad Kern
